Heavyweight matte gatefold covers. 150 pieces on 180g white/black vinyl a/b effect, 350 pieces on 180g black vinyl. The two songs are also available on the KODIAK - S/T 2xCD (see further below) .
After a yearlong phase of writing new material and playing selected concerts KODIAK are now back with a new 2 song record. Before they start to write a three album concept series in 2012 they decided to realize another collaboration: after the liasons with NADJA and BLACK SHAPE OF NEXUS it is the drone ambient legend N who joined them to record an impressive wall of sound this time. KODIAK’s feeling for ultraheavy monolithic compositions and N’s eclectic intuition concerning complex soundscapes add up to a perfect musical symbiosis. The 2 pieces “Radon” and “Xenon” are combining the heavy approach of SUNN O))) with the soundscapes people like N, TROUM or THOMAS KÖNER have been experimenting with for 2 decades.
KODIAK - S/T 2xCD/MP3
Matte triplegatefold digipak covers. Contains all previously released songs + the two new collaboration songs with N + a previously unreleased song.
KODIAK are exploring limits. Even if their sound ranges from monolithic ultraheavy compositions to drone orientated experimental soundscapes, punctated used melodic riffing and guest appearances with strings or piano – that’s the common term to decribe their way of working. Before they start to write a three album concept series in 2012, they’re now offering a new collaboration LP with drone ambient legend N and a collection 2xcd of their work from their first 4 years as a band. This collection 2xcd contains all their output from the s/t debut full length LP, the split songs with NADJA and BLACK SHAPE OF NEXUS, and the new collaboration LP with N to a previously in that length unreleased track named “By the sea”. In total, a more than 2 hours long intensive and agitating trip. Beyond SUNN O))), SWITCHBLADE, and KODIAK there are not that many artists around who can initiate such an expressive mood.
“KODIAK is not a band that you just play for enjoyment; it needs time and attention, but when it locks you in its slowly developing, pachyderm-paced punishing groove, KODIAK has a lot to offer, proving that monotony and monolithic heaviness are enough to make great songs, if you know how. Kodiak definitely know it!!!" (rock-a-rolla)

BLACK SHAPE OF NEXUS "Germans Black Shape Of Nexus enveloped everyone in a bleak miasma of hatred and despair." (Terrorizer); Appropriately for BLACK SHAPE OF NEXUS as the suffocating heaviness of their music functions either way – they can be the centre of your worst nightmares or the connection to all those dark places where you don’t ever want to go. Or both. Pummelling you with painfully slow doom and finishing you off with acrid, harsh drones, B-SON give down-tempo a whole new meaning.
KODIAK | NADJA - SPLIT CD/LP
Heavyweight gatefold covers. 180 pieces on 180g clear vinyl with black and blue splatter, 320 pieces on 180g black vinyl.
This split-LP from the canadian shoegazers NADJA and the still new and fresh german band KODIAK comes up with two sidelong, complex tracks. Complex in the sense of combining atmospheric instrumental fields with very dark symphonies. Intense!
NADJA: ''In doom and drone, genres where much of the stuff can sound remarkably similar, here is a band that stands apart as a beacon. Nadja have the deep drones and all the darkness of doom, but also have intricate melodies that permeate their long dirges...What's commendable about Nadja is the alchemical experimentation with the genres resulting in a unique concoction of doom metal, drone, shoegazer layering, and avant-rock explorations.''

KODIAK - S/T LP
If you like Switchblade, Pelican, Earth or A Storm Of Light you should definitely check out the debut of these great guys from Germany! 2 songs, 40 minutes of algid and monolithic soundscapes - comparable to a long lonely haunting trip through the arctic. With a guest cello appearance of Emily from Audrey. Definitely better than your current favourite instrumental metal band! Haha
available vinyl colors: ice blue vinyl (150), clear vinyl (350)
